I love the holidays! I love getting together with family and friends. I love cooking fabulous holiday meals. I love Christmas music and holiday movies. "The Sound of Music" is always on TV this time of year, and the other day I found myself humming, "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens..." This started me thinking about the old "Dog's Journal vs. Cat's Journal." What a great metaphor for life! I started thinking about how different my day might be if I approached it more from a dog's perspective:
6:00 Oh, boy! Another day! My favorite thing! 6:15 Oh, boy! Exercise! My favorite thing! 7:00 Oh, boy! Breakfast! My favorite thing! 7:30 Oh, boy! A latte! My favorite thing! (Okay, so I really do that one.) 8:00 Oh, boy! Emails! My favorite thing! 8:15 Oh, boy! Returning phone calls! My favorite thing! 9:00 Oh, boy! Studying and improving my skills! My favorite thing! You get the idea. What would your day look like if you approached every moment joyfully and enthusiastically? Try it. You might like it.
